Well done to all the students who gave their very best this week, representing Telford & Wrekin Burton Borough area at the Shropshire Winter Games at the Sports Village in Shrewsbury at cross country, hockey and tag rugby.
In cross country Emme came 3rd in the Year 4 girls’ race; in the Year 5 boys race Daniel came 2nd, Oliver C was 9th and Isaac was 12th with the T&WBB Year 5 boys team coming 2nd overall.
The tag rugby team (Kyden, Fred, Ben, Ella M, Kia, Corey & Leo) were undefeated finishing 2nd overall and the hockey team (Tilly, Ben, Jett, Kia, Leo & Maia) finished 2nd in Pool A, third overall.
After adding up the scores from all of the events Shrewsbury Area were crowned the overall winning School Games area. Final positions were:
1st – Shrewsbury
2nd – North Shropshire
3rd – Telford & Wrekin Burton Borough
4th – East Shropshire
5th – Telford & Wrekin Langley
6th – South Shropshire
A big thank you to all the parents who helped with transport and stayed to support. There was a fantastic atmosphere at the games – It was a great day of sport.
Cross Country
On Tuesday, Ollie C, Daniel W, Isaac and Emme ran cross country for Telford & Wrekin Burton Borough at the school games. The course was very hard when you went through the woods because when you came out the woods there was a path which would slow you down if you had spikes on. We all ran amazingly and really enjoyed being at the games.

Hockey
On March 5th Tilly A, Ben, Jett, Kia, Leo and Maia took part in a hockey tournament. Our first match was 2-2 and Leo scored both. After that Ben scored 2 but we got denied by South Shropshire scoring 3. We dominated the game however we couldn’t score. Next, we played East Shropshire and we battered them 7-0; with Ben scoring the hat-trick, Jett 2 and Leo 2. Lastly, we played Telford & Wrekin Langley and they are our local rivals nevertheless we beat them 4-0. Unfortunately, we lost a game so we weren’t through to the finals. Luckily, we did have another match and we won 2-1 to put us third overall. Well done to everyone who participated.

Tag Rugby
On Tuesday a few year sixes went to Shrewsbury to play Tag rugby for Telford & Wrekin at the Shropshire Winter Games. The players were: Kia, Ella, Kyden, Ben, Corey, Fred, Jett and Leo. We came joint second overall (which I think is very good). We won two, drew three. Everybody tried their best and had fun that’s all that matters. Also a great big thankyou to Mrs Bletcher for helping and supporting us the whole competition.
