King’s Coronation
Today the children enjoyed fish & chips and coronation themed desserts – thank you to the kitchen staff for their hard work as always.
The children then enjoyed their tea party in the school hall. Thank you to the parents for their contributions to this and the staff for getting everything ready.

Staff News
At the end of the summer term, we will say farewell to Mrs Jenks. We would like to congratulate her as she moves on to a full time SENDCo role. Mrs Jenks has been part of the Coalbrookdale family for nine years and will be greatly missed by the children, staff and families she has worked with during her time with us. Mrs Jenks will continue to support children and families throughout the summer term in her role as Year 5 teacher and SENDCo. We wish her all the best for the future.
Plans and preparations are underway regarding next year and children and parents will be updated on further details in the coming weeks.
School Census & Universal Free School Meals—KS1
The Government determines part of a school’s funding based on the number of Key Stage 1 children (Reception, Year 1 & Year 2) who have a school dinner/sandwich on census day. Census Day is on Thursday 18 May. It is imperative that we have as many children as possible having their free school meal on this day. This will help school receive the full amount of funding.
Lunch is Big Breakfast (sausage/vegetarian sausage, bacon, scrambled egg, hash browns, baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, seasonal salad selection, homemade bread followed by ice cream or a biscuit.
Alternatively, you can pre-order a sandwich (ham, cheese, tuna mayo or egg mayo) for your child (please contact the school office).
Pentecost Service – Wednesday 24 May
Year 5 will be leading the Pentecost Service at Holy Trinity Church, Coalbrookdale on Wednesday 24 May. All children will attend, and we would like to invite parents/carers to join us.
The service will start at 2.00pm.
All children will walk back to school and should be collected as normal at the end of the day.
Walk to School Week – w/c 15 May
Walk to School Week is back for 2023 and the Telford & Wrekin’s Active Travel and Road Safety Team would like more children than ever to join the challenge.
Walk to School Week is the perfect way to celebrate National Walking Month this May. We would like to encourage the children are encouraged to walk – or cycle, wheel or scoot, to school everyday for a week. It’s a great way to get active and well on their way to fulfilling their recommended 60 minutes of exercise per day.
