Message from Mrs Dhaliwal
As we come to the end of another very successful and hardworking year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support for the school to enable us to do the best for your children. We enjoy every minute we spend enabling our children to “Live life in all its fullness”.
It has once again been an eventful year, and we have celebrated a range of achievements – in academic, sporting, and social areas. It has been a pleasure to present so many certificates and prizes for excellent work and attitude, behaviour, and attendance.
Our classes have performed really well to produce another set of great results this year in their different national tests and assessments. We are in the process of preparing the full picture of these achievements for the website, to share with you in the autumn term.
Hard work and perseverance on the part of the children and the staff, as well as you, their parents, and carers, have made this happen. Congratulations to everyone concerned.
However, what the children of Coalbrookdale & Ironbridge Primary School are about is so much more than reaching and exceeding age expectations in reading, writing and maths. I took great pride last week during our final Shining Stars Collective Worship in handing out a large number of behaviour shields to your children, and have seen the kindness, responsibility, respect for others, humour, talents in sports, science, arts and computing amongst so many other growing qualities, which tells me how much they gain from your support and ours at school.
Our shared set of values is what makes our school successful.
For those of you who are saying goodbye to the school as your children move onto secondary education, or move to new primary schools, we wish you and your children happiness and success in the future.
We will be saying a sad farewell to three members of staff; Mrs Jenks, Mrs Lewis and Mr Laundon. I am sure you will join me in thanking them for all their loyal service to this school and wish them well for their future.
Mr Wheeler, our newly appointed Deputy Headteacher, will be joining us in September. We will also be welcoming two new teaching staff – Mrs Cox who will be teaching Year 3 and Mrs Faulkner who will be teaching in Year 4.
I want to thank all families who have ensured that their children come to school every day in our school uniform. We know our children feel proud to wear their uniform and feel that they belong to our Coalbrookdale & Ironbridge family.
From September we will continue to have high expectations in terms of uniform.
At Coalbrookdale & Ironbridge CE Primary School, our school colours are royal blue, black and grey.
Children should wear:
– a white or blue polo top
– a royal blue jumper, sweatshirt, cardigan
– grey or black skirt, pinafore or trousers
In warmer months, blue gingham dresses / black or grey smart shorts can be worn.
All children need to wear sensible shoes (no heels or trainers please). Girls are permitted to wear black, navy or grey tights.
P.E. Kit Bags and Book Bags help children to organise their equipment needed in school. If you would like to purchase P.E bags and book bags with the school logo, they are available to order from the same company as the uniform.
Uniform can be ordered from Lads & Lasses Schoolwear (https://www.ladsandlassesschoolwear.co.uk/)
On Monday 4 September and Tuesday 5 September, school will be closed to all children for staff training.
The new school year starts on Wednesday 6 September 2023.
Wishing you all a happy and safe summer break.
