Sports Days
Thank you so much to parents for attending our KS2 Sports Day on Tuesday. The children really enjoyed having you there and it was lovely to see everyone participating in the activities. We just about made it before the heavens opened. The children are in the process of completing their races in their PE lessons. We will announce the winning house in next week’s newsletter following KS1’s Sports Day.
KS1 Sports Day will be held on Tuesday 18 July on the school playground with events starting at 9.30am and will conclude at around 10.45am.
Children will be completing activities in their Houses (Gorge (Green), Severn (Blue), Wrekin (Red) and Bridge (Yellow)). If the children have t-shirts in their house colour, that would be great, but if not, we will have some coloured badges or bands for them. Please remember to send children with hats, sunscreen, and water bottles.
If the weather forecast is not favourable, in the interests of safety we may need to cancel Sports Day however a final decision will be made the day before (17 July) on whether to go ahead.
After School Sports Clubs
There will be no after school sports clubs next week.
SEND Drop-in Session
There will be a SEND Tea & Coffee drop-in session next Tuesday 18 July (2.00pm – 3.20pm). Parents who have concerns regarding SEND, mental health or any other parenting concerns are welcome to join us. Mr Wheeler will also be attending to meet parents.
The Big Help Out
The Big Help Out is a fundraising/volunteering initiative linked to the King’s Coronation.
As part of this Year 2 chose to raise money for the NSPCC by having a second-hand toy sale. They will be holding this after school next Tuesday (18 July) from 3:20pm – 3:30pm just before open evening starts. We hope you will support them.
Open Evening – Tuesday 18 July (3.30pm – 5.00pm)
Open evening next Tuesday is an opportunity for children to show their parents and families what they have been doing in their classrooms this year, with a chance to say goodbye to their current teachers and take their parents and families to see their new classroom too. We look forward to seeing you.

News from the Parish
The School Open Day is next Tuesday 18th July, 3.30pm to 5.00pm.
It is a time when the school is opened for families and children to walk around, look around their soon-to-be-old and soon-to-be-new classrooms, and share together in celebrating all the work that has gone on during the year at our school. Teachers will also be on hand for children to show their individual work to their families.
People from the local churches here in our Parish will be friendly faces at a table in the main hall, to dispense squash, biscuits and smiles as people pass through to look around the classes.
It has been an absolute pleasure for the Parish to welcome children from the school at special services at Holy Trinity during this last year, as well as at JAM sessions and family services at St Luke’s.
We are pleased to therefore be in school ourselves, just as we will be again for an All Ages Family Service in the school in the autumn.
The Parish is also pleased to share that at last week’s Family Service at St Luke’s, a special Covid Tree was dedicated in memoriam of those who lost their lives during the pandemic. The tree is in the churchyard, please do have a look if you are around.
