Incident on Dale End
We have been made aware of an incident outside school this week where a pedestrian was clipped by the wing mirror of a car that was driving along the pavement after collecting their child.
Parents and carers are reminded that they should park safely and legally when dropping off or collecting their children. The Highway Code stipulates that you must not park on the pavement unless signs permit it.
Parents can obtain car parking permits for Dale End and The Wharfage car parks from Telford & Wrekin Council (Ph: 01952 384 000) for school drop-off and pick-up times.
Book club
From next week Book Club will move to Thursday afternoons (3.00pm – 3.20pm). Parents are invited into school to read with their child/ren and share in stories. The main front doors will open at 3.00pm – please make your way to your child’s classroom.
PE
There have been some changes on when children will have their PE this half term. Please check below in “What’s happening: w/c 15 April” to see when your child has PE.
Children should come into school dressed in their PE kit. This consists of a white or navy t-shirt, navy or black shorts/jogging bottoms/skort and trainers. During the colder months children can wear long sleeved skins tops under their t-shirt, a royal blue or navy sweatshirt or fleece and tracksuit trousers or long leggings (black), especially for outdoor lessons/clubs, to help keep them warm. No football kit please.
DIY SOS – Stage 2
We would like to thank Idverde for their help in strimming the wooded area at the back of the school during the Easter Holidays and thank you to Mr Green for his help in facilitating this. Idverde also created a bug hotel for the area and will be giving us some bird boxes as well.
In Stage 3 we hope that parents can help to finish the area over a weekend when the weather is hopefully warmer and drier. Look out for more details in future newsletters.
Asthma
If your child is asthmatic and has an inhaler in school could you please send a copy of their most recent asthma plan from the GP.
Donations wanted
The Reception class would be extremely grateful if anyone could donate any of the items hanging on our wishing line. The wishing line will be on the top playground from Monday. Please have a look at the items and if you can help please take a photo from the whiteboard wishing line and bring back with the item.

News from the Parish: family worship at St Luke’s this Sunday
We hope that everyone has had a lovely Easter break, and a good start to the new term.
We would like to invite children and their families to come along to St Luke’s Church this Sunday 14th April, for Family Worship. The service will start at 1100am and finish with refreshments at noon.
The topic will be about changes, as we continue to celebrate Christ’s resurrection and the changes in everyone’s lives.
Children will be able to colour or decorate little butterflies during the service, so that some can go on a large Easter Egg shape at church, and others may be taken home.
The butterflies, as a symbol of change, will then complement the Easter Egg shape, which is a symbol of a very permanent message which we continue to celebrate during Eastertide and beyond.
The readings are Acts 3: 12-19 and Luke 24: 36b-48
The butterflies will be based at the red activity table to the side of the pews, with children welcome to take the butterflies into the pews to sit with their families if they would like to do so.
Adults will also be able to decorate butterfly shapes in the pews if they would like to do so as well, in order that we may all celebrate changes together.
There are also toys and books for younger children to play with too
