School Uniform
Dear Parents and Carer
The spring term is underway, and I would like to take the opportunity to revisit the uniform expectations.
Uniform is incredibly important to us at Coalbrookdale. It underpins our ethos, values and an important part of our school’s identity. It reinforces who we are as a community and helps children to feel pride in their school. I believe it sets the tone for expectations around conduct, behaviour, and attitudes; this in turn impacts on the smooth running of lessons and the atmosphere within school. We will place a high emphasis on children wearing it correctly. Your continued support in this respect is very much appreciated.
We have made some changes to our uniform policy which is available on the website for further reference.
We have included a snapshot of the most important information from the policy. P.E kit should only be worn on the days that children have P.E lessons.
Standard Uniform
- Our school colours are royal blue, black and grey. We request children wear a royal blue jumper / sweatshirts / cardigan and grey or black skirts / pinafores or trousers.
- In warmer months, blue gingham dresses / black or grey smart shorts can be worn.
- All children need to wear sensible shoes (no heels or trainers please). In the colder weather, girls are permitted to wear black, navy or grey tights.
PE Uniform
- Shorts or jogging bottoms – black or navy-blue
- T-shirt – white or navy-blue
- Jumper or fleece – white or navy-blue
- Children will always need trainers for P.E.
On health and safety grounds, we do not allow children to wear jewellery in our school. The exceptions to this rule include earring studs in pierced ears, a watch and jewellery linked to religion. Children must remove or cover these items during PE and games to prevent them from causing injury.
Hair longer than shoulder length, should be tied back.
No makeup or nail varnish should be worn in school.
Uniform with the school logo can be ordered from Bristows via their website at Bristows School Uniform.
Uniform can also be purchased from local supermarkets, as long as the clothing items bought are the correct school colours.
If you have any questions about the guidance, please do not hesitate to contact school or refer to the uniform policy on the website for further information. If there are any extenuating circumstances, which mean you are unable to meet the uniform requirements, you can discuss this with your child’s class teacher or Headteacher.
We look forward to your support and trust the guidance above makes things much clearer for everyone.
Kind regards
Mrs M Dhaliwal
Water bottles
We would like to remind parents that children should bring in a named water bottle to school every day. These should only contain water – not fruit juice, squash, fizzy drinks, or flavoured waters.

Community News – News from the Parish
This Sunday, 22 January, there will be a Jesus and Me (JAM) session at St Luke’s, where the main service is Holy Communion, led by Reverend Okeke.
The service starts at 11.00a.m., with children invited to come into the vestry for the JAM session after the first hymn and prayers.
This week, we will be looking at the story of Jesus calling four fishermen to follow Him and be fishers of men. We will be decorating a fish symbol to take home to remind us and making pictures of the Sea of Galilee.
Then we will return to sit with the congregation to watch them take Holy Communion, before sharing our work and singing the closing hymn linked to this topic. The hymn is “one more step along the world we go”.
We hope that children from the school may like to join us.
