Design & Technology Project

Thank you to all the parents who came into school this week to support their children with their D&T projects.  It has been lovely to see some many of you here.

Farewell

Today we say goodbye to Miss Anderson as she starts her maternity leave.  We wish her all the best as she awaits the arrival of her baby.

Sporting Events

This week children have been representing the school at two football events organised by the Telford & Wrekin Sports Partnership.

On Thursday Alfie P, Charlie, Franky, Jensen, Josiah, Kane, Rory(Y2) and Wilf participated in a Year 1/2 Football Festival at AFC Telford United.  They practised their football skills and played mini games.

On Friday Alfred, Benedict, Benjamin, Bobby-Joe, Dominic, Ethan, James, Isaak, Marcus and Rowan played in the Year 3/4 Boys Football tournament at Telford College.  They didn’t concede a goal and came 4th out of 16.

We would like to congratulate all the boys on being good representatives of the school.

Thank you to Mr Boynton for coaching and supporting the Year 3/4 boys at the tournament.

News from the Parish – All Ages Service – Sunday 17 March

We are pleased to give further details of an All-Ages Service to be held at the school, from 11am to 12 noon this Sunday 17th March.

We would like to invite children and their families to join people from the local churches, so that we may get to know each other and strengthen friendships as we go through the year.

There will be juice, biscuits, cake and fruit after the service.

The service will be held in the school hall. Entrance will be signposted and is up the right-hand slope and via the side door.

The theme is all about how God keeps his promises, building on activities that children enjoyed taking part in at the last Jesus and Me (JAM) session at St Luke’s in February.

Here is the main Bible passage we will be using:

Jeremiah 31.31-34

God promises a new covenant. It will not be like previous covenants, nor like the written Law that the people had broken. The new covenant will be written on people’s hearts, and is summarised: ‘I will be their God and they shall be my people.’ Everyone will know God – and God’s forgiveness.

There will be singing and craft activities around this theme, and the local churches look forward to seeing families there.

Community News – Summer Drama in the Forest – 5th to 9th August 2024 – now taking bookings!

Does your child enjoy exploring make-believe worlds, fairy-tale stories, getting creative, meeting new children and being outside in nature?

Then the Drama in the Forests were made for them! Run by a powerhouse of talented arts professionals and funded by Arts Council England, your child/ren will hugely benefit.

Visit https://SumDNF.eventbrite.co.uk for more info and to book on in the summer. See picture below for more info.

There are still some places available for the ‘Spring Drama in the Forest’ (25th to 28th March 2024) – visit https://SprDNF.eventbrite.co.uk to book on.  For those who are eligible for T & W Council’s Happy, Healthy and Active Holidays scheme snap up the last two free places available via their website: https://hhah.telford.gov.uk/

As we are a not-for-profit community theatre company, our fees are heavily subsidised and kept as low as is possible (£25 per day). However, if this price still presents a barrier to your child’s participation, please email us at admin@moonstruckastronaut.com ASAP as we can offer a small number of reduced fee places for both of this year’s Drama in the Forests!
