Message from Mrs Dhaliwal

Dear Parents and Carers

We’ve had a wonderful week at school this week! We were delighted to share with the children all the fantastic feedback we received from the SIAMS Inspector. The children were incredibly proud to hear how their kindness, respect, and positive attitudes were recognised and celebrated.

This week, we also enjoyed celebrating World Religion Day, where each class took part in engaging activities to explore and appreciate different faiths and cultures. It was a joy to see the children learning about and celebrating the diversity of beliefs that make up our world.

In collective worship, we have been reflecting on the Golden Rule “treat others how you wish to be treated” — and how this guiding principle is shared across many world religions. The children shared thoughtful ideas about how showing kindness and understanding can help create a welcoming and supportive school community.

As we continue through the term, let’s all carry this important message with us, encouraging one another to lead with compassion and respect in everything we do.

Thank you for your continued support.

SEND Coffee Morning – Thursday 23 January

Thank you to everyone who joined us this week for the parent coffee morning. It was wonderful to see you and to have the opportunity to connect and share ideas.

We had planned to hold a coffee morning specifically for our SEND parents on Thursday 23 January at 9:00 am, but unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we will need to cancel this event. We understand this may be disappointing, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

In the meantime, if you would like to discuss any information or concerns regarding SEND support for your child, please contact the school office to request a meeting. Our admin team will be happy to arrange a meeting for you with our SENDCo, Mr. Wheeler.

We are committed to providing opportunities for our SEND families to come together, and we will look to reschedule this event. A new date will be shared with you as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding.

Reminder about Smart Watches in School

We would like to remind you of our school policy regarding smart watches. While children are allowed to wear watches to help them tell the time, any smart watches that have additional features such as messaging, calling, taking photographs, or recording videos are not permitted in school.

This is an important safeguarding measure to ensure the safety and privacy of all pupils and staff.

We kindly ask that any watch your child wears to school is limited to telling the time only.

Thank you for your support in keeping our school a safe and secure environment for everyone.

Medicine in school

If your child is feeling unwell, medication (prescription or over-the-counter) can be administered in school.  Parents are asked to complete a permission form giving the name, dosage, and timing of medication.

Any prescribed medicine must be supplied to the school in the original container labelled by the pharmacist with the name of the medicine, full instructions for use and the name of the pupil.  Any non-prescribed medicine bought by the family should be in the original container bearing the manufacturer’s instruction/guidelines.  The school may refuse to administer any medicines supplied in inappropriate containers.

All medication, except for asthma inhalers, should be handed in to the school office for safekeeping.  Children should not keep medication in their school bags.
