Young Minds – Hello Yellow

Dear Parents and Carers

Next week, on Tuesday 10th October, we will be celebrating Young Minds “Hello Yellow” as a school.

Young Minds is an organisation that supports schools to spread awareness of children’s mental health and at Coalbrookdale, this is something that we as teachers and support staff are all passionate about.

During the school day, children will participate in various activities that are tailored to support children in

understanding what mental health is and how this can be supported.

To celebrate this occasion, we would like the children to wear a yellow accessory of some kind along with their school uniform. This could be a yellow hair accessory, a yellow sock, scarf or t-shirt.

A £1 donation is optional to support the Young Minds charity.

We look forward to celebrating this day with the children and spreading awareness of mental health across school.

News from the Parish

This Sunday 8th October, there is a Family Service at St Luke’s Church in Ironbridge, to be held 1100am to 12noon with refreshments afterwards.

There is also a 20 minute time of prayer beforehand for those who may like to come a little earlier for this.

Carilyn Simkin is leading the service, for which the theme is Jesus Christ as the light in our lives.

The reading is Luke 11: 33-36.

There will be tealights and paper in the pews, for us to write the names of people we love or people we are worried about, and then a chance to light these at the front.

We will be linking this to thinking about Jesus as “My Lighthouse”, and finding the letters in the pews to make the words together. There will also be an action song for everyone to sing.

We hope that children from the school may join us.
