Staffing Update
Dear Parents and Carers
I’d like to inform you of some upcoming staffing changes.
Miss Dillon, our Year 3 teacher who has been with us since 2022, will be leaving us at Christmas to join a school closer to her home. We are grateful for her dedication to our school community and wish her every success in her new role.
Mrs. Fellows, who joined us on a fixed-term contract to cover a maternity leave, will also be leaving at the end of term. Again, we wish her all the best in her future endeavours.
I am pleased to share that we have been successful in appointing a new Year 3 teacher, and once the necessary DBS and safeguarding checks are completed, we will introduce them to you and the children. We are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for the class and will keep you informed.
Regarding Year 5, we are considering options to cover Mrs. Fellows’ part-time role, as her contract was set to cover until Easter. We will keep you informed as soon as a decision has been made.
Thank you for your continued support, and please join us in wishing both Miss Dillon and Mrs Fellows all the best in their future roles.

Year 5 and 6 Drop-Off
We want to ensure that all parents have the opportunity to see and briefly speak with your child’s class teacher in the morning. Recently, some teachers have needed to return to classrooms with a group of children right at drop-off time, which can sometimes mean missing out on the chance to connect with parents.
To make this easier, starting from next Monday, all Year 5 and 6 children should go straight to their classroom door when the gates open. This will allow teachers to remain available at the door for any quick follow-up chats you may have.
I’d also like to take a moment to share how proud I am of the enthusiasm and participation our children have shown in the Coalbrookdale Welcome handshakes each morning. Their positive energy has been wonderful to see!
Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.

Parent Questionnaire
Thank you to those parents who took the time to complete the recent survey. It is greatly appreciated. We will be sharing the results in next week’s newsletter.
Odd Socks Day
Next Tuesday (12 November) we will be celebrating the start of Anti Bullying week with Odd Socks Day, and we would like the children to wear odd socks. Anti-Bullying Week is designed to help raise awareness of bullying.
It’s an opportunity to encourage people to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique. Odd socks day is designed to be fun so please wear odd socks to school on Tuesday to help us celebrate our wonderful, unique community.
Children in Need – Friday 15 November
Next Friday (15 November) we will be fundraising for Children in Need. There will be a mufti day where children do not need to wear school uniform in exchange for a donation (£1.00).
Christmas Fair & Ironbridge Christmas Lights Switch-On
The children have been invited to sing at the Christmas Fair (Friday 22 November @ 4.30pm) and the switch on of the Ironbridge Christmas Lights (Saturday, 23 November from 5.00pm).
On Friday 22 November children should be in the school hall by 4.25pm.
On Saturday, 23 November children should meet at 5.00pm on the Ironbridge (Toll House/Car Park side) with their families. They will walk across the bridge as part of the lantern parade and will sing from 5.30pm by the Tontine Hotel. Parents will be responsible for their child/ren while walking across the bridge.
School uniform is not necessary but warm coats, hats and gloves would be recommended.
If your child is able to join the above events, then please complete the form in the link below to confirm their attendance. It would be lovely to welcome a large group of singers from all classes to join in some festive singing and Christmas cheer.

News from the Parish: Remembrance Service 10th November 2024
This Sunday, there will be a Remembrance Service at St Luke’s Church in Ironbridge, starting at the earlier time of 10:50am.
This is so that everyone is ready for the two-minute silence at 11:00am, to remember the Fallen in the two World Wars and other wars around the world.
After the service, the congregation will go down to the war memorial by the Iron Bridge, for a short act of remembrance there.
In order to involve children in creating their own contribution to the service, we will have a red table set at the side of the church by the play area for younger children. We will be colouring in poppies and thinking about the servicemen from Ironbridge who died in the two World Wars.
The bells in the church tower were installed to remember the people who died in the First World War, whose names are on a plaque in the church. The clock in the tower is lit to remember those who died in the Second World War, whose names are on the war memorial by the Bridge.
We hope that children may join us in this special service of commemoration.
