Welcome Back!

Welcome back! We hope you all had a restful and enjoyable Easter break. It’s been a great start to the summer term, with children returning eager and ready to engage in their learning.

Today, your child will be bringing home an overview of the learning they will be completing this half term. This is a helpful way for parents to understand what’s being taught and to support learning at home. Even simple conversations about what your child is learning can make a big difference, helping them embed new knowledge into their long-term memory.

We’ve also included the key dates for your diary for the summer term in today’s newsletter. There’s so much to look forward to this term, and we’re excited to see the fantastic progress the children will make.

This week, a group of Year 2 children had the opportunity to visit Arthog Outreach, accompanied by Miss Pugh and a parent helper. They had a wonderful time exploring the outdoors, taking on new challenges, and working together as a team. We were thrilled to hear that our children were described as the best group who attended – what an amazing piece of feedback to receive! We are incredibly proud of how they represented our school with such enthusiasm, respect, and responsibility.

As always, thank you for your continued support. If you ever have any questions or would like to speak to someone, please don’t hesitate to contact a member of staff in school.

There is an online information session for parents next Wednesday 7 May (4.00pm – 4.45pm).  More information can be found in the poster below.

Online Safety May 2025

This is a valuable opportunity to find out more and ask any questions you may have.

The session will also highlight the importance of online safety, a vital topic in today’s digital world. As children increasingly engage with technology, it’s essential that we work together to help them stay safe, make informed choices, and develop healthy online habits.

Below is the link to access the session.

Please note:  This session is a repeat session (last delivered Jan 2025) so if parents/carers attended that session, then they don’t need to attend again.

Attendees do not need to register, simply click on the link at the above time to access the session.  Cameras and voice/audio will be switched off for all attendees.  Attendees can ask questions by typing in the Q&A box, but this will be explained during the session.

The event will be streamed using Teams.  Attendees can watch the live event in:

  • Teams app—desktop (Windows or Mac) or mobile. (The Teams app is free to download if attendees would like to do that beforehand).
  • If you don’t have Teams you can access it via one of the following browsers – Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Firefox.

As a reminder, this session will be recorded and will be subsequently shared so if you can’t make the live session you can watch it back at a time that is convenient to you.

Introducing the New Friends of Coalbrookdale

We’re delighted to introduce our new Friends of Coalbrookdale who have already made a fantastic start in supporting our fundraising efforts. A huge thank you to all the parents who are getting involved – we truly value your time and commitment in helping to enhance our curriculum and wider school offer for the children.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing members of the Friends of Coalbrookdale. Your voluntary service and dedicated support to the children over the years have made a lasting impact, and we are incredibly grateful for all you’ve done.

Please see below, a message from the new Friends of Coalbrookdale team, detailing information about upcoming fundraising events.

All are welcome, parents, family, teachers and local community.

We will be discussing and approving requests for funding from the school, proposals to be submitted to the school for 2025/26 school year fundraising events and co-opting a new trustee. We have space for one more trustee if anyone is interested in joining us on a more formal basis.
