Message from Mrs Dhaliwal
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our recent communication questionnaire at the last Parents Evening. Your feedback is incredibly valuable in helping us strengthen how we communicate with you and celebrate all that’s happening in school.
Key Findings:
- Email and Seesaw were identified as the most preferred ways to receive communication from school.
- A large number of parents said they would follow the school on social media for updates, with Facebook highlighted as the most popular platform.
- 79 respondents said they read the school newsletter every time it is sent, with many others reading it occasionally.
Our Response:
- We will continue using Email and Seesaw as our main communication channels.
- We remain committed to producing a weekly newsletter, designed to keep you informed about school life and to celebrate the many successes of our children and staff. Please do take a moment each week to read this—it’s an important way for us to stay connected with you. Feedback about the newsletter going into the Junk was taken into consideration so we now upload a link to the school newsletter to Seesaw.
- School will continue to provide updates to class Seesaw pages to celebrate the work and class achievements.
- In response to feedback, we have been exploring the use of a school Facebook page to share updates, key messages, and celebrations happening in school. We will share more details about this next week.
If you would like more information about how we communicate as a school, our Home-School Communication Policy is available on our school website.
Thank you once again for your continued support and helpful feedback
Healthier Families
5 A Day
Fruit and vegetables are a great source of vitamins, minerals and fibre, and an important part of a balanced diet for kids and adults.
Eating plenty of fruit and veg helps keep us healthy and may reduce the risk of disease and some illnesses.
Here you will find all you need to know about 5 A Day for the whole family.
What does and does not count for 5 A Day?
Almost every type of fresh, frozen, tinned and dried fruit and veg you can think of counts towards your 5 A Day.
So do fruit or vegetables in ready-meals or shop-bought sauces. However, always check the packaging and watch out for high amounts of salt, fat and sugar – or use the NHS Food Scanner app to quickly find healthier swaps.
But some things you might not expect to count actually do, and some things you would expect (or hope) to count actually do not – looking at you, potatoes!
Here is a quick guide to some of the foods people ask about most often.
