Message from Mrs Dhaliwal
What a busy and exciting week of learning to celebrate!
Our Reception and KS1 children had a fantastic time taking part in Beep Beep Day this week! They enjoyed a range of fun and meaningful activities all focused on road safety and how to stay safe when out and about. Do take time to discuss and reinforce these rules with children at home.
Reception class then had the chance to put their learning to the test during an exciting visit to Shrewsbury on Wednesday. The children explored different modes of transport – travelling by train, bus and coach – all in one day! They were an absolute credit to the school, showing great behaviour, curiosity, and enthusiasm throughout the day. A big thank you to all the staff and parent volunteers who helped make the trip such a success.
Thank you as well to all the children who put their names forward for our new Lego Club. We had so much interest that we had to pick names out of a hat to keep it fair. If your child has been selected, you will receive confirmation from the office. We know it will be disappointing for those who weren’t chosen this time, but please be assured that we will offer further opportunities in the future.
Today, we’ve also been celebrating National Poetry Day. The children have been getting their rhyming skills in motion, creating fantastic poems inspired by our school values. We’re so proud of what they’ve produced. Here is a wonderful example from Year 5 – and we can’t wait to share more of their creative work with you soon!

Year 5 Poem – Never Give Up
When things go wrong and times are tough,
And every step feels more and more rough,
Just take a breath, stand tall and say,
“I’ll keep on trying—come what may!”
A tiny seed beneath the ground,
Pushes up without a sound.
Through wind and rain, it finds its way,
And blooms into the light one day.
The river carves the hardest stone,
Not in a day—but on its own.
It never stops, it never rests,
It pushes on and does its best.
The greatest minds, the strongest hearts,
Once had days of stops and starts.
But with each fall, they rose up strong,
Kept moving forward all along.
So, when you fail or miss the mark,
Don’t let the world blow out your spark.
Rise again, stand tall, be true—
The only one who stops is you!
Beep Beep Day
On Wednesday, our children in Reception and Key Stage 1 took part in Beep Beep Day, a fun and engaging way to learn about the importance of road safety. Through a range of exciting games and activities, the children explored key safety messages such as stopping, looking, and listening before crossing the road, the importance of holding an adult’s hand, and how to stay safe near traffic.
To continue reinforcing this important learning at home, we encourage parents to:
- Talk about road safety – Discuss the importance of stopping at the curb, looking both ways, and listening for traffic before crossing.
- Practise safe crossing – When out and about, model safe road-crossing behaviour by using pedestrian crossings and holding hands with young children.
- Be visible – As the evenings get darker, encourage children to wear bright or reflective clothing to stay seen near roads.
- Avoid distractions – Remind children to always focus on crossing safely and avoid looking at screens or listening to music near roads.
Thank you for supporting your child in developing these vital life skills. Together, we can help them stay safe on and around the roads!

After school clubs – price increase
From the summer term after-school clubs run by Embrace will cost £3.50 per session due to increased costs to the school.
