Message from Mrs Dhaliwal
Dear Parents and Carers
As we come to the end of our first half term, I want to say a huge thank you for all your support. It has been such a successful start to the year, and the achievements of every child have already been noticed and celebrated across the school.
Your involvement and encouragement make a real difference. This half term, it has been wonderful to see so many of you attending parents’ evening, taking part in workshops and joining in with our parent book club. Your engagement shows the strength of our school community and the shared commitment we all have to ensuring the very best for our children.
It was also lovely to see so many of you in church yesterday for our Year 2 Harvest Service – not just Year 2 parents, but families from across the school coming together in support and celebration. Moments like these truly reflect the caring and connected nature of our school family.
We’ve also had a wonderful end to the half term with Coalbrookdale’s Got Talent! A huge well done to all the children who auditioned – you were so brave and showed such confidence. The children who made it to the final today did an amazing job, and we are all so proud of them. A big thank you to our judges for giving their time to support the school and for helping to make the event such a special occasion. Your presence was greatly appreciated by us all.
As we reflect on our half term value of trust, it has been inspiring to see how our children have shown trust in themselves, in one another, and in the adults who guide them every day. This value continues to shine through in the way our school community learns, grows and works together.
I wish you all a wonderful half term break with your families. Take time to rest, enjoy, and make special memories together.
With warm regards
Mrs Dhaliwal
Coalbrookdale’s Got Talent Results!
Following our Coalbrookdale’s Got Talent show yesterday, the judging panel are delighted to announce the winners:
1st place: Emelia and Hallie for their wonderful dance routine
2nd place: Seren for her fabulous song and performance
3rd place: Josiah for his amazing magic show
A huge well done to all of our talented participants – what a fantastic showcase of creativity and confidence!
Online Gaming
We would like to bring to your attention a concern that has recently arisen regarding the online game Among Us, which some children have been playing and discussing at school.
While Among Us may appear to be a fun and engaging game of teamwork and mystery, it includes themes of violence and deception that are not suitable for young children. We have observed that some of the game’s content is being replicated during playtime, with children acting out scenarios that involve “eliminating” others and using language that is inappropriate for their age group.
As a school, we are committed to promoting safe, respectful, and age-appropriate play through our values of respect and compassion. We kindly ask for your support in monitoring your child’s online gaming activity and encouraging alternatives that are more suitable for their developmental stage.
If you have any questions or would like advice on age-appropriate games or online safety, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with your class teacher.
Thank you for your continued support.
Friends News – Raise £25 in the 2025/26 School Year
This year, we’re challenging every pupil to raise £25 (or more!) for our school. You can do it any way you like:
✨ Sponsored walk, run, or silence
✨ Car washing
✨ Bake sale
✨ Or something completely your own!
Sponsorship forms came home with students on Wednesday.
🏆 Class Prize: The class that raises the most by the Summer Fair will win a special reward!
Parents are welcome to join in—any funds you raise can be added to your child’s class total.
Don’t forget: Many companies offer match funding, and as Friends of Coalbrookdale is a registered charity, every pound you raise could go even further!
Together, small efforts will add up to something amazing for our school community.
