Message from Mrs Dhaliwal
Dear Parents/Carers
What a wonderful start to the Christmas season we have had at Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge! This week, the children were treated to a fantastic production of Dick Whittington right here in school. The hall was full of laughter, excitement and festive cheer. A brilliant way to launch our Christmas celebrations!
Last Saturday also marked a truly magical moment for our school community. Our children took part in the Ironbridge Christmas Light Switch-On and what an event it was! The children were met by Santa by the Toll House before walking along the Iron Bridge with their beautifully crafted lanterns. When they stepped onto the stage, their singing brought the whole crowd to silence. It was a very special moment, and we are so proud of them. A huge thank you to all the parents who joined us and supported the children.
On Tuesday, our Year 4 and 5 children took part in an important visit from the Loudmouth Theatre Company. They experienced the Helping Hands performance in the morning, followed by a workshop in classes. This programme supports children to understand safe relationships, recognise trusted adults and know what to do if they ever feel unsure or uncomfortable. The children engaged brilliantly and showed great maturity throughout.
This afternoon, we also welcomed many of you to our Book Club session. Thank you for taking the time to join us. Reading is one of the most important skills a child can develop and sharing books at home, even just a few minutes each day, makes a tremendous difference to children’s confidence, vocabulary and imagination. We really appreciate your support.
Over the next two weeks, children will be taking part in their end-of-term assessments. These help us to understand what they have learned this term and guide teachers in planning the right next steps after Christmas. Thank you for your continued partnership; working together truly makes all the difference to the children’s progress and wellbeing.
We also have a very exciting run-up to Christmas ahead, with lots of events, performances and celebrations planned. We can’t wait to share the festive season with you.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ahead.
Mrs Dhaliwal

Playground Fun and Collaboration
Today, we were delighted to see children from Year 4 and Year 5 working together to create an exciting obstacle course on the playground using items from our playpod, such as tyres, blocks, and foam. As more children joined in, the course grew into a large circular challenge! It was wonderful to watch pupils from different year groups playing collaboratively, showing creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Winter Water Safety
This week the children learnt about winter water safety. In winter, children and pets are particularly at risk when tempted to play on the ice formed on open water, and adults can find themselves at risk in attempting to save them.
