Message from Mrs Dhaliwal
Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome back after the half-term break! It has been wonderful to see the children return to school refreshed and ready to learn. We’ve had a great start to the new half term, with learning well and truly underway across all classes.
A special thank you to our Reception parents who joined us for the parent lunch on Wednesday and attended the phonics session. We truly value your partnership in supporting your child’s learning at home. Reading is a key foundational skill that unlocks every area of learning and your continued encouragement at home makes such a difference. Even just ten minutes of reading each day helps children to grow in confidence and fluency.
Our value focus for this half term is Responsibility, and it was wonderful to celebrate this during our Values Celebration Worship today. Well done to all the children who have already demonstrated great responsibility and lived out our school values in action. Thank you to the parents who joined us to celebrate these achievements.
Today, your child will bring home their half-term learning overview, outlining the key areas of learning for this half term, along with their homework. Homework includes weekly maths practice and spellings, which can be accessed online through children’s logins. Paper copies are also available in reading diaries if preferred.
We encourage all children to read daily at home. Those few minutes each day really do make a big difference!
Over the coming weeks, we will be updating our curriculum subject pages on the school website. The pages for R.E., Maths, Online Safety, and Science have already been refreshed and now provide an overview of how each subject is taught in school. We hope these updates will help parents gain a clearer picture of our curriculum and how we support children’s learning and progression.
As we move into this special half term leading up to Christmas, we look forward to sharing in this important time within the Christian calendar: a season of joy, reflection, and community. Please take a moment to look at the key dates included in this newsletter, which outline the exciting events taking place in the weeks ahead.
We look forward to working together and celebrating a wonderful half term as we journey towards Christmas.

Front Gate
We wanted to draw your attention to a small but important safety matter at our front school gate.
As you enter or exit through the gate at the front of the school, you will notice that the pavement on the school-side has developed a noticeable dip. We have been monitoring this and are currently arranging quotes for remedial work to fix the sunken section.
In the meantime, could I please ask everyone to be mindful of their footing when using this entry/exit point. To support this, we have placed signage by the gate to remind all visitors and members of our school community to take care until the repair work is completed.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we take steps to ensure the safety and ease of access for everyone.
If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

News from the Parish: Remembrance Service – 9th November 2025
This Sunday, there will be a Remembrance Service at St Luke’s Church in Ironbridge, starting at the earlier time of 10:50am.
This is so that everyone is ready for the two-minute silence at 11:00am, to remember the Fallen in the two World Wars and other wars around the world.
After the service, the congregation will go down to the war memorial by the Iron Bridge, for a short act of remembrance there.
In order to involve children in creating their own contribution to the service, we will have a red table set at the side of the church by the play area for younger children. We will be colouring in poppies and thinking about the servicemen from Ironbridge who died in the two World Wars.
The bells in the church tower were installed to remember the people who died in the First World War, whose names are on a plaque in the church. The clock in the tower is lit to remember those who died in the Second World War, whose names are on the war memorial by the Bridge.
We hope that children may join us in this special service of commemoration.
