A prayer written by Mrs Dhaliwal this week
Prayer for Comfort and Support
Dear Children, Parents & Carers
In times of sorrow, we gather our thoughts and hearts together.
We remember the love and joy that enrich our lives and the impact that one person can have on a community.
May we find strength in each other, supporting one another through our shared memories and love.
We ask for comfort for those who are grieving and for the light of hope to shine brightly in their hearts.
Let us cherish the moments we have shared, hold on to the love that remains, and extend our compassion to all who feel this loss.
Amen.

Harvest – Tuesday 22 October
Year 2 will be celebrating and performing a Harvest celebration on Tuesday 22 October at Holy Trinity Church, Coalbrookdale. Children are asked to bring in an item of food (tins, packets, dried goods etc) to school on Tuesday morning. All donations will be passed on to the Telford Food Bank.
All school children will attend, and we would also like to invite parents/carers to join us. The service will start at 2.00pm and last approximately 45 minutes.
All children walk back to school and should be collected as normal at the end of the day. Please ensure your child has their coat for the walk to and from church.
Wraparound – Morning sessions
If children who attend morning wraparound sessions would like breakfast please ensure they arrive no later than 8.25am as breakfast is not served after this time.
News from the Parish – Family Worship at St Luke’s Ironbridge
This Sunday 13th October, St Luke’s Ironbridge would like to welcome children and their families to a Family Worship service at 11am.
The readings are as follows:
Psalm 107:23 – 32
Mark 4:35 – 41
In Mark’s Gospel, we learn about how Jesus calmed a fierce storm on the Sea of Galilee, which had threatened to capsize boats. He was sleeping on a cushion, when awoken by his terrified disciples.
He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
To link in with this reading, there will be colouring and cutting activities for children, at the red activity tables at the side of the church. Children are invited to cut out boats or colour in scenes of the storm on the Sea of Galilee.
Children are welcome to either sit at the tables, or sit with their families in pews, as the congregation will be making boats as well.
There are also books and toys available for younger children to play with in the church.
We hope to see children and their families there, and to share refreshments after the service has finished.
