SIAMS Inspection
On Wednesday, we had our SIAMS inspection, which stands for the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools. This inspection focuses on evaluating how well our school’s Christian vision shapes our daily life, supports the flourishing of all members of our community, and promotes the development of children’s spirituality. We couldn’t be prouder of our children and staff, who worked incredibly hard to share and celebrate all the things that make our school a wonderful and thriving Christian community. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the parents who took the time to speak with inspectors, sharing their views on the school’s successes and areas for development. Your input is invaluable, and we truly appreciate your support. We expect to receive the final report when we return in January, and we look forward to sharing it with you.
Christmas Lunch
Thank you to Mrs Brownhill, Mrs Cooper and Miss Jones in the kitchen for all their hard work in preparing the delicious Christmas lunch this week and to Councillor Healy for helping them serve lunch to the children and staff. The festive atmosphere with children enjoying their meal, singing Christmas songs, and sharing the joy of crackers was truly magical!
Thank you also to Friends of Coalbrookdale for the Christmas crackers which children shared during their Christmas lunch. Your continued support in providing experiences and opportunities for children at Coalbrookdale is really appreciated.
Christmas Jumper Day
Thank you for your support of Christmas Jumper Day. We raised an amazing £120.00 for Save the Children charity. We appreciate the continued compassion and support shown by all families.
Christmas Church Service – Thursday 19 December – 2.00pm
Key Stage 2 will be leading our Christmas Church service on Thursday 19th at Holy Trinity Church. This will be a special celebration of the season and the end of term. This is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our school values of responsibility, respect, and compassion as we come together as a community to enjoy readings, carols, and the joy of Christmas. We look forward to welcoming all parents and carers to share in this meaningful occasion. Please arrive for a 2pm start.
Rudolph Relay
Next Friday we will be participating in the Rudolf Relay to raise funds for Severn Hospice, an organisation that provides vital care and support to those in need. This event will take place during the school day, and we encourage all children to join in the festive fun by wearing their best Christmas costume and bringing a £2 donation. Don’t forget to pack trainers for the relay race!
Every child will receive a certificate for taking part and those children who make a £2.00 donation will also receive a pair of reindeer antlers acknowledging that they’ve supported Severn Hospice’s Rudolph Relay.
Together, we can make this a meaningful event and support the incredible work of Severn Hospice. Thank you for your generosity and enthusiasm!
Car Parking Permits
We have been advised by Telford & Wrekin Council that the way school car parking permits is changing. Please see details below. A copy of the letter will be also be sent home with children.
From 16th December 2024 Ironbridge permits will be managed and purchased on Telford & Wrekin Council’s MiPermit website.
The site will allow residents, businesses and visitors to edit and access their permits 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The new permit scheme will mean that permit holders will no longer need to display their permit within their vehicle as the new system will update the Neighbourhood Enforcement Team’s handheld devices.
Ironbridge residents, businesses and visitors only need to register or renew their permit when their current one is due to expire or has expired. Telford & Wrekin Council will still accept current permits up until their expiration date. When a permit is purchased online this immediately becomes an active permit.
Coalbrookdale & Ironbridge School permits must be on MiPermit from 31st January 2025. The school will have a unique authorisation code each academic year and will be in contact with parents and guardians directly, parents/guardians will be prompted to enter the code on applying for a permit.
