Parent Questionnaire Results
Thank you for taking the time to complete our recent parent survey. Your feedback is incredibly valuable in helping us understand what we are doing well and where we can improve.
We are committed to ensuring that your views shape the development of our school, and we are pleased to share with you the first stage of our response to the survey results.
Over the coming weeks, we will provide more detailed updates, focusing on specific areas raised and the actions we are putting in place. We will then be able to share with you the impact of these changes on our children as the term progresses.
Pupil Happiness and Safety:
- 86% of parents agree or strongly agree that their child is happy at school.
- 83% feel their child is safe
School Actions – Although these results show a high percentage, I would expect all children to feel safe and happy at our school. Our Learning Council and Safeguarding Crew will be gathering views from children in school about how we can make things safer and a happier place to be. This will allow us to look at ways in which we can make school a happier and safer place for all.
Awareness of Learning Goals:
- 88% of parents feel well-informed about their child’s learning for the year, a strong indicator of effective communication about the curriculum.
School Actions – Our school website provides a wealth of information. We send out half termly subject overviews which detail what children will be learning for that half term. These will be again shared with parents at the end of next week. We held parents evening before October half term, and it was so lovely to see parents and school staff working together. Our next Parents’ Evening will take place in the Spring term. In the meantime, if you would like to discuss anything specific regarding your child’s development, please do not hesitate to get in contact with your child’s class teacher.
Range of Subjects:
- 75% agree or strongly agree that the school provides a good range of subjects.
School Actions – We want all parents to be knowledgeable and fully informed about the curriculum offer their child is receiving at Coalbrookdale. There are a great variety of creative curriculum opportunities in school however we feel this is not always fully shared with parents. Therefore, we will be reviewing how we share information about all the engaging and purposeful learning that takes place so it can be celebrated by the whole school community.
Winter Weather
As temperatures are expected to drop significantly from next week, please ensure your child comes to school prepared for the colder weather. We recommend sending them with winter essentials such as hats, gloves, and scarves, and most importantly, a warm coat or jacket (please remember to name all items). With outdoor activities continuing, having these items will help keep the children comfortable and safe during break and lunchtimes.
Thank you for helping us keep everyone cozy and well-prepared!
