World Heritage Festival – Saturday, 17th September

This event will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Ironbridge Gorge becoming a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Festival’s climax will be the Severn Fire and Light Flotilla, which will sail from Ironbridge Rowing Club at about 7.30pm and finish at the Iron Bridge itself.

Children from Years 3 and 5 have been making lanterns this week. If your child would like their lantern to be part of the flotilla please meet Mrs Jenks at the craft tent that will be set up in Dale End Park with their lantern at 7.00pm to collect the light.

Viewing areas will be set up in Dale End Park and along The Wharfage and stewards will be on hand to direct people. There will be no spectator areas on the Iron Bridge or on the south side of the river.
